My name is Desireé Kepper, I'm so happy you're here.

I envision a United States that resists self-destruction in favor of shared responsibility. A country that treats political difference as a resource, not a threat, and recognizes that liberal and conservative ideas are incomplete on their own. What comes next is something we build together. This is an invitation to build, carefully, from the ground up, a community committed to bringing people together, even when it feels impossible. But first, we must understand the forces that pull us apart, and why they persist.

The Basics: Embedded Links Included

BRICS is a group of five major economies, Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa, that began formal cooperation in 2009. Since then, they have developed parallel financial institutions as alternatives to the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank, aiming to rebalance global economic power.

While the world has changed drastically, we've been encouraged to look sideways, into conflict with family, neighbors, and friends—instead of forward.

Rather than framing China, Russia, and the Global South as enemies, the United States has an opportunity to reduce military overreach and pursue a future centered on peace, sustainability, and shared global freedom.

The United States Military-Industrial Complex remains a significant constraint on the United States’ ability to recalibrate its global approach. With military expenditures nearing one trillion dollars and limited critical coverage in major news outlets, domestic issues that fracture communities persist- despite being solvable with a fraction of current defense spending.

The current political fragmentation in the United States is the result of decades of leadership choices that prioritized military dominance over diplomacy. As these structures are increasingly challenged, the country appears to be entering an extinction bubble- where division intensifies, conflict turns inward, and volatility grows as old systems struggle to maintain control.

With effort and imagination, we can reclaim our minds, our lives, and our shared humanity. We can rediscover the values that once made this country feel possible, and step forward with the world into something new, brighter, and worth building. This doesn’t have to be how the story ends.
